January was very rough for me, if I would be honest and probably use the language of the world, depression is quite light to explain the kind of suffering I went through.

As I write now on Thursday 1st of February, I am still sitting with our Abba Daddy in a recovery process and it honestly feels too slow, pray for me. However, I can say in this pain, I am seeing God the Father in ways I could never imagine and how lovely He is!

On the day stated above, I had one of the most intense time laddered with disappointments and much more. God comforted me with His Words but I was just not receiving much, I kept crying and asking Him to encourage because I felt lost on every side. At some point, Abba asked me, “What’s hurting you the most?”

I opened my notes app and tried to pour out, I had 3 headings with subheadings etc, I wanted to get to the root of my pain and I hit a jackpot, that moment was when I looked at the face of Jesus and said, “I love You but I am sorry, now I need You to encourage me. I don’t just want You, I am tired, I need You to do something that encourages me.” Then I turned to Daddy waiting for a response.

I was sitting on my bed and Daddy’s reply was, “Get up and Dance”

How? But I am learning and practicing the Fear of God so I got up from my bed almost immediately even though it seemed like an insensitive request to make.

He led me to play some Afro Gospel and I started with Ayo by Ife; this song is not just about Joy in Christ but it carries an almost irresistible atmosphere of Joy. When I played it with my speaker, I felt a smile coming from my heart and I let my cheek express it bit by bit as Abba had commanded me recently, unlike before when I wouldn’t let the smile out and that way pain had more space.

Daddy told me the devil didn’t want me to smile so each time I held back the smile He was lighting in my soul, I was agreeing with my adversary. So this time, I let it out till I was really smiling and I started to move my body in my torch lighted room. From song to song, I released myself more to freely dance and the pain + overwhelm drowned in my dance. I was dancing in obedience, so my dance was worship and worship changes everything.

I don’t know how long I danced but by the time I was done, I was refreshed, I had a cold bath then I lay on my bed and continued reading ‘My All for Him’ by Mother Basilea Schlink and proceeded to a video message as Daddy led and He encouraged me, not just through the book and video but in a way I didn’t expect. He showed me again how faithful He is to His Word, and I need you to know that God is the best encourager.

You don’t need to spend your time on social media, YouTube, meaningless conversation etc. looking for solace, comfort or encouragement when you can ask your Father and He will order you to His place of blessing.

Since then, when I feel pain; I try getting up, moving my body, running, kicking my legs and hands. I also sit still to listen to my body and by feeling my body slightest moves +
sensations, I can tell the emotion or pain I am dealing with then I can seek the Father on what I should do, sometimes His answer is to speak the Word, other times, it can be to spend time with Him, it could also be whispers of comfort, promises etc. It doesn’t mean I don’t hurt or cry anymore, it just means rather than drowning in this endless pit of pain, I am learning to handle it better with our heavenly Father.

I also learned from Lagoshousewife to lift my head; once I notice my head is bent in pain, anxiety, fear etc, I lift my head and look straight with authority and poise, while saying or thinking to myself, “Lift your head. Goodie, lift your head. You are not defeated, you are a conqueror in Christ Jesus.”

Right now, I only bend my head in worship and when I am engrossed in work or study, other than that, I consciously lift my head!

It doesn’t matter where you have been and where you currently are, you are Loved by the Trinity God- Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These Persons love You.

I pray you accept and experience their Love.
